Ursviken Inc. (Chicago, Illinois) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Field Service Engineer responsible for providing technical support nationwide, including some customers in Canada and Mexico.
Job Duties
- Installation, service, maintenance and repair of press brakes and shears
- Provide service to the customer at the customer site, to include technical support, troubleshooting and problem solving, contracted preventative maintenance, installations and start-ups
- Training of customers’ operators and maintenance personnel in operation, application and programming of equipment
- Recommends equipment modification and operational procedures based on field observations and experience.
Skills/Qualifications
The ideal candidate would possess an Associate Engineering Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent of a minimum of 5 years experience; hydraulic, electric and electronic skills a must
- Press brake and bending experience required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, schematics and product manuals
- Ability to work well independently as well as be a team player
- Excellent communications skills - must be proficient in English, have strong listening skills and enjoy working with people
- Strong customer service orientation with “do whatever it takes” attitude
- Able to multi-task and work under extreme pressure
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Self motivated and highly organized with a strong desire to succeed. Must be able to work independently.
- Able to travel overnight extensively (up to 90%) on short notice, including occasional weekend trips.
- Identify and order parts necessary to complete repairs and routine maintenance
- Provide assistance to more senior level Field Technicians on larger jobs
